TMESIS THEATRE is: Yorgos Karamalegos (Kay) and Elinor Randle

Yorgos Karamalegos, Elinor Randle and Kate Cave met at Hope Street's Physical Theatre Programme in 2002. Together they formed the company and created their first piece ‘Tmesis’. Since 2005 Kate followed a different career.

Based in Liverpool, Tmesis Theatre is one of the country’s most unique, leading physical theatre companies. The company have developed a strong reputation nationally and internationally for their innovative, groundbreaking, visually stunning, and though provoking physical theatre work, which is communicative and highly accessible.

 

The company have produced four successful production, the trilogy (Tmesis, Memento Mori, and Anima) and The Dreadful Hours which have toured nationally and internationally to critical and popular acclaim. Productions can be booked individually or combined.

The company has a commitment to widening access to physical theatre through its education and audience development and runs an annual International Physical Theatre Festival, Physical Fest as well as an associated outreach programme.

 

Tmesis Theatre have been supported by The Arts Council of England, The Princes Trust, the Unity Theatre (Liverpool), ACID, Hope Street Ltd, MSEI, Liverpool Culture Company, The Granada Foundation and Liverpool City Council.
