CASTING CALL – BETTY & JEAN – SHORT FILM
Hi everyone!
We are looking for two actresses, playing age 70+ must be able to do an accent from Merseyside, to be part of a short film which will be shot in Liverpool this spring.
Betty & Jean is about two women who were once together a long time ago, and meet later in life. It is written and directed by Elinor Randle, produced by Tmesis Theatre and filmed/edited by First Take. The film is supported by Liverpool Pride Foundation.
Betty, 70+, Widowed, lives close to where she grew up in Birkenhead. A soft loving woman who is family orientated. Very close to her granddaughter. She could never live as her true self and is struggling with regret and confusion.
Jean, 70+, Moved away from Liverpool when she was in her early 20’s in order to live as a gay woman. Confident and vivacious, she has travelled a lot, had long term partners, no marriage or children and is now single. Determined to live life to the full, loves dancing.
